Project Details
HMP Five Wells is an adult male Category C resettlement prison, designed to encourage rehabilitation and help prisoners reintegrate into society on their release. HMP Five Wells in Wellingborough is the first of four prisons to be built through the government’s £1bn prisons programme.
The main contractor of this £250m prison providing 1,680 resettlement places for male prisoners was Kier Construction. Advanced Utilities partnered with Kier to provide the mechanical and electrical external infrastructure for the new prison. Advanced Utilities provided critical infrastructure to the scheme through new HV and LV cabling and terminations, feeder pillars, external lighting and CCTV, mains and boosted cold water, fire, sprinkler and dry riser mains including the supply and installation of a combined fire fighting/sprinkler tank with associated pipework and all testing and commissioning required as part of our scope.
